A look into the Journey so far...
What started your love of the game?
I have always loved that golf is an individual sport. It has given me the opportunity to take full responsibility for my performance and progress. Rather than relying on team outcomes, I have been able to foster discipline and a strong sense of self.
Growing up, I had always admired my older brother who was, and still is, a good golfer. At the time, I had never beaten him in a round. As a determined and competitive kid, this became my ultimate goal. I practiced every day and did everything in my power to learn more about the game. It was during this time that I discovered my love for golf and the true potential I had. Soon later, he was no longer able to beat me.
And still can’t.
Who influenced you most?
The people who have influenced me most are my family.
They have always supported me and pushed me to be the best golfer and person I can be. Their belief in me has been a continuous motivator. I don’t know where I’d be without them!
What is your career highlight?
There are several moments that come to mind when reflecting on my golf career so far!
These include:
- Winning the 2022 Men’s Dixie Amateur
- Playing Division 1 golf for the Arkansas Razorbacks and Nebraska Huskers
- Winning the golf week junior international invitational
- Playing in the US Junior at Baltastral and making match play
- Making a HI1 on a par 4 during a tournament at age 16
My lowest score in a tournament is currently 63, which ties the course record at Oswego Country Club.
Why do you believe you can take your game to the next level?
Throughout my career so far, I have had many opportunities to play among PGA tour professionals. This has enabled me to truly understand what it takes to be one of the best and play alongside the best. I feel strongly that this is my calling.
I have always been confident in my capabilities. The level of discipline that I have cultivated over the years has allowed me to truly hone in on my skills and recognize my full potential. I know that my current short game is tour level and my long game is close.
In order to unlock my highest potential, I will need the opportunity to compete year round. When given this opportunity in the past, I have had my strongest seasons and my game really showed me what I am capable of. With the right support and opportunities, I wholeheartedly believe that I have what it takes to advance my career and make it on the PGA tour!
